To Know God And To Make Him Known

Video CCTV System

The video system currently consists of the following systems: the CCTV video playback system and the projection system.

The CCTV video playback system consists of a closed circuit campus-wide TV system being fed by multiple source inputs. The source inputs consist of the source feed of the Worship Service, a Dish Satellite system (Sky Angel programming), OTA antenna for local channels, DVD player and two VCR players. The output from these sources is then being fed to eight fixed ceiling-mounted 27" flat-screen television sets.

These eight sets reside in the Nursery Check-in Room, the Choir Room (used for a crying/nursing room during services), back left and right of the Sanctuary (to be used as class rooms in the near future), Library, High School Room, Middle School Boys Room and the Middle School Girls Room. Each set is using a home-run RG-6 shielded coax cable run from the Crow’s Nest. All of the television sets except those in the sanctuary have a DVD/VCR combination player in addition to the CCTV signal.

A self-contained audio/video system also resides in the Pastor’s Office which has a ceiling-mounted 27" flat-screen television. The input sources for this system consists of a separate satellite feed and OTA antenna system as well as a DVD/VCR combination player and an Audio/Video receiver used to switch sources. This allows the Pastor to control this system by selecting the desired source to watch which is independent of the main CCTV system.

An additional 20" flat-screen TV which uses a DVD player and a VCR player as input sources is mounted on a mobile cart that is available for use in other areas.

The video from the Worship Services is captured by camera systems and is being fed to the CCTV system. A single Canon Mini-DV Camera (mounted to the light bar outside of the Crow’s Nest using a Bogen Super Clamp with a Bogen Micro Fluid Head) is currently providing the video presentation of the services. In the future, we are planning on installing additional cameras that will feed a video mixer (also a future purchase).

The CCTV signals are being broadcast on channels 2, 4 and 6. Currently, each of these three channels can display one of two video sources for a total of six video sources.

A Sony rack-mounted TV Stereo Tuner controls channel 2 of this system. Antenna "A" is being fed by the Video output of the RCA VCR (which is the camera feed of the services) via coax cable. Antenna "B" is being fed the OTA antenna for local channel feeds. From the Crow’s Nest, the operator selects either antenna "A" or "B" and the selected output is then sent to a Pico Macon Audio/Video Modulator via coax cable. This particular modulator is set to NTSC channel 2. The modulator output is then sent to a Blonder Tongue 12 channel combiner.

A Sony rack-mounted VCR controls channel 4 of this system. The Dish Satellite feed is sent to the VCR (for recording purposes) and the operator can choose to either tune to a particular satellite station or use the playback function of the VCR. The selected output is then sent to a Pico Macon Audio/Video Modulator via coax cable. This particular modulator is set to NTSC channel 4. The modulator output is then sent to a Blonder Tongue 12 channel combiner.

A second Sony rack-mounted VCR controls channel 6 of this system. A Sony DVD Player feed is sent to the VCR and the operator can choose to either play a DVD or use the playback function of the VCR. The selected output is then sent to a Pico Macon Audio/Video Modulator via coax cable. This particular modulator is set to NTSC channel 6. The modulator output is then sent to a Blonder Tongue 12 channel combiner.

A Blonder Tongue 12 channel combiner is used to combine all of these video inputs. Currently, only three video feeds are being fed into this unit via coax cables with the capability of adding an additional 9 channels.

The output of the combiner is then fed to a Blonder Tongue Splitter which takes the output and splits it into 8 separate feeds which is then sent to all of the Sony 27" flat screen televisions throughout the campus.
