The call to Christians is to take the message of Christ with us as we "go." One of the ways that we do this at Travis Oaks is by serving in local missions and beyond. By serving our community and our world, sharing the gospel with those in need, and seeing to the task of discipleship, we fulfill the commission of Christ. Below are just a few of the ways that we serve others in missions and descriptions of how you can serve as well!
Hurricane Ike Relief Effort, October 12-18, 2008
Join Travis Oaks and our Pray-Give-Go initiative as we seek to help those in East Texas who have been affected by this terrible storm.
Texas Baptist Children's Home
Efforts with this ministry include adopting a Family Care Cottage or having a one-time gift/party, providing meals on the Monday evening counseling sessions for moms, and collecting and/or donating seasonal clothes for their clothes closet (women & children). Baptist Soup Kitchen
Our church is partnering with Texas Oaks Baptist Church to help serve at the Baptist Soup Kitchen located downtown (just east of I-35 on E. Cesar Chavez) each month. The hours of service are from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. - which includes set up, serving and clean up. We need four volunteers each month.
